Skin Reconstruction after Cancer Removal

The particular method used to reconstruct your skin after skin cancer has been removed will depend on the location and size of your tumor.  Small and medium sized lesions are often reconstructed with local skin flaps to maximize the final appearance. Larger skin cancers  may require skin grafting to adequately cover the defect. With skin grafting, skin is removed from an inconspicuous place on your body, and seamlessly placed over your scar.
