Liposuction
Charlotte, Gastonia, and Shelby, NC
Many men and women can accumulate excess, stubborn fat that will not go away with diet and exercise. This fat tends to build up in areas such as the thighs, abdomen, waist, buttocks, arms, and neck, and can make you feel insecure and less attractive.
At Southeastern Plastic Surgery, we have over 15 years of experience helping people in our community remove these fatty deposits and regain the toned, sculpted body they deserve. Our board-certified plastic surgeons will work closely with you to ensure all areas of concern are addressed, and the look you have been dreaming of is achieved.
Liposuction Treatments
We are fully devoted to only providing our patients with procedures that are time tested and proven. At Southeastern Plastic Surgery, our experienced liposuction surgeons offer two types of liposuction:
- Tumescent liposuction – a technique in which a solution of anesthetic and adrenaline are injected into your fat deposits causing them to swell and a reduction in blood loss. With this method, the removal of fat becomes much simpler while remaining incredibly precise.
- Power assisted liposuction – a procedure that utilizes a special, oscillating cannula to break up fat cells allowing them to easily be removed from the body. This technique requires smaller incisions, which may help speed recovery time.
During your free liposuction consultation, we will discuss the benefits of each of these procedures and help you find the method best suited to your needs. The results from these types of liposuction can be viewed in our before and after gallery.
Liposuction Recovery and Risks
Liposuction takes very little time to recover from. Most patients are able to return to work within one to two weeks, and resume normal activities after one month. Some swelling and mild discomfort may be present in the days following your surgery. Use of pain medications, compression garments, and gentle physical activities like walking can greatly reduce this discomfort.
No surgery is without its risks. General surgical risks such as excessive bleeding, blood clots, and infection are a possibility. At our AAAASF-certified surgical center, we take every precaution necessary to reduce these risks. Aesthetic risks associated with liposuction include loose, wrinkled skin, pigmentation, and visible scarring. The tone of your body will continue to improve for up to ten months following surgery. During this time, many aesthetic issues resolve themselves.
