Liposuction Technology

One of the most exciting advancements in liposuction technology is the use of fluid injections. These injections combine a local anesthetic with other medications that serve to clump fatty deposits and close off blood vessels that could be damaged by the procedure. In turn, removal of fat is both easier and safer. This method, called tumescent liposuction, allows our board-certified cosmetic surgeons to remove a larger amount of fat without the complications and risks associated with traditional liposuction techniques.

Another advancement is power assisted liposuction, or PAL. PAL uses a powered cannula to break up deposits of fat. By breaking up these deposits, removal is substantially easier, allowing your surgeon to remove larger amounts of fat with minimal incisions.

We have found that these methods offer the best results and provide the lowest instance of complications. Though other methods of liposuction are becoming available, we have determined it is in the best interest of our patients that we await further evidence that these methods are safe.
